I love making polymer clay flowers, especially polymer clay roses. Spring time with all the flowers in bloom and Easter coming reminded me of how these pretty polymer clay roses can make lovely decorations for your home. I began to make them in various sizes and colors. I also started decorating with them. I added some to polymer clay candle holders, polymer clay pen holders and turned some of them into really lovely rose pins. I am now working on making some of these lovely roses into hair accessories.
I wanted to make the roses look life like. I didn't want them to look like lumps of clay. The key to making the roses is to hand sculpt each petal. Start with a few balls of clay in the same size. Flatten each ball out and shape it into a petal. Attach these clay petals to the center one at a time. Wrap around until the rose is formed. They turned out so pretty I decided to use one of the pink polymer clay roses as a model for a painting I am making. These polymer clay roses can be made into beads, key chain charms and more. These polymer clay roses are one of my most fun pieces of art to make.
